Lower segment caesarean section / LSCS / Csection
Indication:
Mine is a straight forward case. Breech, LO never ever turned cephalic even since 16 weeks (we had a 4D then).
Elective was planned, but had turned emergency because of type 2 deceleration on the CTG. I think she was distressed being hooked up on CTG, there wasn't anything distressing when the surgeon looked inside.
Healing:
I (unfortunately) had wound infection, 7 days post op: my wound sorta burst. Just 1 cm, not the whole way through. It took antibiotics, dressing to sort it out. My wound healed in 3 weeks.
Pantang:
My pantang was food-wise. Taking food for faster healing (haruan, pati ikan haruan, halia, pegaga) although MIL said... 'macam your normal diet je pun-rebus,tak bergoreng'
Jalan-jalan tersangat banyak, coz in out paeds clinic for jaundice, respiratory prob.
I bathe my child, change her nappies...hubby helps out after work. No help from maid (except household chores).
I started my urut, bengkung (rarely-LO keeps vomiting on the bengkung), tungku after 3 weeks. (BFestablished, no more gaping wound)
Babywearing:
Ini budak sangat manja, takleh tido atas katil.... kena in mommy's arm.
I bought the RS from The Baby Loft, 3 weeks in pantang. The three of us went, although we came using carrier, LO went back sleeping in the RS (didn't take her out) bad, bad.
I had pizza after such a long time, with her in the sling.
BF:
Due to jaundice, she only mastered BF after 3-4 weeks. We topped up with EBM, fed using a Medela cup and special feeding device (got it from Fabulous Mom).
She didn't like BF while lying down... she wants to be cradled, even at night *sigh*
I rarely get to rest on my own... she's always with me... wished I knew about BW earlier, I think wrap would've been easier at that point. It was a tiring 2 months.
