INTRODUCTION It is intended that the syllabus should be delivered through approximately 30 hours of formal physics teaching. For those undergoing specialist training in the UK, this would usually be scheduled over an eight week period starting in early October with the intention that trainees sit the First FRCR Examination at the Winter sitting in early December. Further elements of physics, as detailed in the syllabus for the Final FRCR Examination, should be taught later in the first year of training. AIMS The aim of the examination is to ensure that candidates have a sound knowledge of the basis of physics related to diagnostic imaging. This includes a detailed understanding of the principles of diagnostic imaging equipment and the properties of diagnostic images. Candidates should be able to describe the factors affecting image quality and patient dose and be able to use equipment correctly. When linked with their subsequent radiology training, this will enable safe and effective application of medical diagnostic imaging techniques for the benefit of patients. Furthermore, within the current UK framework for radiation protection of staff and patients, candidates will understand the basis for radiation protection guidance and have the knowledge to enable them to act as qualified practitioners within the remit of the UK legislation. Editor: The term “Aunt Minnie” describes an imaging finding that is both perfectly obvious and pathognomonic of a disease (1,2). We have tried to answer the question of who coined the term by asking the family of the late Dr Edward B. Neuhauser. Gernda Neuhauser, his wife, is certain that he had no aunt or relative named Minnie. However, she believes that the term was adopted by her late husband from the lore of New England. It may have been a local phrase with special meaning, similar to “Uncle Charlie” or “Uncle Ben.” Regardless of its origin, it remains a useful descriptor in the practice of radiology today. A well-known example occurred approximately 4 years ago in the radiology department at Boston Children's Hospital. A pediatrician was consulted for a second opinion regarding a 4-year-old child who was thought to have been battered. He brought the radiologist a skeletal survey. The radiologist looked at the survey and said, “This is leukemia.” Startled, the clinician protested that the complete blood cell count was normal. The radiologist replied, “What can I say? It's an Aunt Minnie!” Several weeks later, a repeat complete blood cell count was abnormal and the child was symptomatic with leukemia.REFERENCES
Calorie Needs - Weight Maintenance, Weight Loss, Weight Gain
Your total daily calorie needs are the calories required to MAINTAIN your weight (as calculated above). In order to LOSE weight, you need to reduce your calorie intake. In order to GAIN weight you need to increase your calorie intake.
One KG of weight is equal to 7,700 calories. Therefore, in order to lose one KG of weight per week, you should either consume 7,700 fewercalories per week, or consume 3,500 fewer calories (500 fewer per day) while burning an extra 4,200 calories in extra exercise! To gain 1/2 KG of weight per week, increase your calorie intake by 3,600 calories.
If you eat more than the above calories per day without doing extra exercise to burn them off, you'll gain weight. If your goal is to lose weight by burning off excess body fat already stored in your body, aim to eat less calories over the week and maintain or increase your exercise activity. However, do not go below 900 calories per day as it'll send your body into "starvation mode" which will start to store food as fat! Also, if you suddenly cut down too much calories per day, you'll lose energy and feel tired easily, therefore get on a diet program that you can sustain without these side effects.
Eating right by counting calories is too time consuming for most people. In a perfect world we would all have time to prepare or locate such low calorie meals in restaurant or hawker centers, but not in today's fast pace fast food society. On top of that, cutting down on calories intake is only part of the solution to permanent and successful weight lost - you still need to ensure that those low calorie meals are also nutritionally balanced. Otherwise it'll be easy to loose weight by simply skipping meals!

- No need to exercise.
- Lose kilos.
- Be on your weight loss course, but after losing weight, u need a few months for maintenance.
- Direct selling style, buy few months worth of supplies, enjoy more savings.
- Reduce your calories.
- If u can't reduce much, find a way to use the calories ie exercise.
- Never overdo your calories, coz it'll pile up and u never have the time to burn the extra calories off (dangers of raya open houses).
- Eat healthily, and balanced diet.
